For programming purposes and to make the trading platform easier, Betfair uses a decimal odds system different from the traditional odds you might be used to. But don't worry its easy to get used to.
So where you might see traditional fractional odds of 2 / 1 whereas at betfair you will you see decimal odds 3.00. Both are just a way of representing that for every $1 you stake, you will win $2 if you are right.
The easy way to read fractional odds is to think of the number on the left as the amount you win for betting the number on the right. So 2 / 1, means you win $2 for every $1. Likewise, the easy way to read decimal odds is to just minus one, to work out how much you win on every $1 bet. So decimal odds, 3.00 means, you win $2 for every $1 bet.
But just in case your an old hand that has the traditional fractional odds ingrained by years of betting, you can use the conversion table below for fast conversion to decimal odds. Its most useful for guys doing the arbitrage strategy because you'll find most other bookies are offering odds on the traditional fractional odds system.
