In Baccarat, you wager whether the "player" or the "banker" will get the closest point value to 9. You can also wager whether the "player" or "banker" will tie. So there are three basic bets on the Baccarat table, "player win", "banker win" or "tie" bets.
The "Player" in baccarat is more ceremonial and the real player does not really have anything to do with it. The dealer will draw cards according to the rules for both the "player" and the "dealer".
Cards deuce to nine are face value. Tens, Jacks, Kings and Queens have a zero point value. The Ace carries a single point.
If the cards in a hand total more than ten points, simply subtract ten; the remainder is the baccarat point value of the hand. For example: 7+Jack=17, which counts as a 7 in baccarat; and a Ace+8=9, which counts as 9.
